French hotel chain Accor SA (AC.FR) is considering selling its upmarket caterer Lenotre after an approach from would-be buyers, the company said Friday.

The sale would fit with Accor's aim of focussing on its hotel business and provide Lenotre with more capital for its growth, the company said.

Accor has already spun off its voucher business so as to focus on running hotels. It is switching its business model to concentrate on franchises and management contracts.

Shares were down 0.3% at EUR30.15 at 0709 GMT.
