At Thursday’s close, US stocks showed modest performance, with the S&P 500 and the Dow reaching new closing highs, but with volatility. Highlights included the significant appreciation of the shares of Arm Holdings (NASDAQ:ARM) and Disney (NYSE:DIS), contrasting with the decline of PayPal (NASDAQ:PYPL).

The Asian and Pacific markets ended slightly higher on Friday, following the modest gains on Wall Street. China’s Shanghai SE closed up +1.28% and Japan’s Nikkei rose +0.09%.

The European markets are mostly in positive territory on Friday except for France’s CAC 40, as investors digest recent corporate results and economic indicators. Inflation in Germany decreased to 3.1% in January, while Italy is about to release its industrial production data at the end of the session.
