EQT to Buy 20% Stake in Dentistry Scanning and Software Developer 3Shape

STOCKHOLM--Swedish private equity firm EQT AB said late
Wednesday that it will acquire a 20% stake in 3Shape, a developer
of scanning solutions and software for dentists and dental
laboratories.
Based in Copenhagen, 3Shape provides intra-oral scanning
solutions, Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing
software for dentists and dental laboratories in more than 100
countries. The company was founded in 2000 and employs more than
1,900 people in Europe, Americas and Asia, of which around 500 work
in research and development.
EQT said it will acquire the stake from 3Shape's founders, who
will remain majority shareholders in the company.
The transaction is expected to close during the first quarter of
2022 and with this deal, EQT IX is expected to be 75%-80% invested,
it added.
Financial terms weren't disclosed.
