Cigna Names Jim Hickey as Market President for South Texas Commercial Health Plans

Cigna (NYSE: CI) has named Jim Hickey as market president for
its commercial health care and related benefits plans in South
Texas. He is based in Houston and is replacing Mike Koehler who is
retiring.
Hickey’s responsibilities include driving market growth by
creating customer value and ensuring that local product and network
offerings meet evolving customer, client and community needs. He
also leads Cigna’s relationships and collaborations with local
hospitals, doctors and other health care providers and Cigna's
significant community engagement investment in greater Houston and
South Texas.

Prior to joining Cigna, Hickey most recently served as vice
president of Texas and regional vice president for the South
Central Territory Medicare Plans for Aetna. He has also held key
leadership roles at WellPoint/UniCare, UniCare Health Plans of
Texas, Great-West Healthcare, Humana and PCA Health Plans of Texas.
Hickey also served in care delivery and health policy advocacy
roles in the United States Army Medical Department.
Hickey earned his master’s degree from Central Michigan
University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and his bachelor’s degree
from Providence College in Rhode Island. Through diverse state and
national professional affiliations, he has also remained an engaged
voice on important health issues. Hickey is a current board member
and past associate board chairperson for Theatre Under the Stars in
Houston.
