BOSTON, Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Santander Bank
will celebrate the official re-opening of its flagship branch today
following a redesign project that has transformed the space into a
state-of-the-art destination in the heart of Boston's Financial District. Located at 75
State Street, also home to Santander's corporate headquarters, the
new branch features a modern interior design and encourages
engaging, consultative customer interactions in a comfortable
setting while also providing tools to facilitate self-service.
The Bank will hold a grand opening celebration and ribbon
cutting this afternoon during National Customer Service Week where
Santander executives will officially re-open the branch and present
a check totaling $320,000 to City
Year, a national education organization that helps students and
schools succeed. As one of City Year's corporate partners since
2015, Santander has invested more than $1
million in the organization, sponsoring 11 school-based
teams of City Year AmeriCorps members across the Bank's U.S.
Northeast footprint, serving as a math program sponsor, supporting
financial literacy sessions, and participating in multiple service
events.
"Santander is committed to investing in our branch network and
continuing to transform branches across our footprint into
innovative spaces that make coming into the bank easy and
comfortable for our customers," said Michael Cleary, co-president of Santander Bank and head of Consumer and Business
Banking. "Boston is an important
market to us and we have received positive feedback from our
customers who have told us how much they like the inviting
atmosphere of our new branch style. We are excited to celebrate
City Year at this grand opening by recognizing the important work
it does to help students at high-need schools here in Boston and throughout the country."
The recently renovated branch offers a welcoming environment
with innovative features and local community imagery designed to
improve the customer experience. There are several meeting spaces
for customers to interact with our knowledgeable branch team such
as a meeting "nook" with sliding doors where they can meet
privately with bankers to discuss their financial needs. The branch
also has a teller bar, help bar and free Wi-Fi for customers. The
24-hour ATM vestibule is available to customers after branch
hours.
"Congratulations to Santander
Bank on the re-opening of its flagship branch in the heart
of Boston's Financial District,"
said Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn.
"I'd like to thank Santander for being a good neighbor with its
ongoing partnership and generous donation to City Year. This
funding will greatly assist our children in the Boston Public Schools through tutoring and
mentoring programs."
