RESTON, Va., Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos (NYSE:
LDOS), a FORTUNE 500® science and technology company,
was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
(USACE), St. Louis District, to
provide hazardous, toxic and radioactive waste (HTRW)
investigations and environmental remediation. The single-award,
indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, cost-plus fixed-fee
contract has a one-year base, with an ultimate completion date of
February 2023 if all options are
exercised. Total contract value is approximately $49 million. Work will be performed primarily in
St. Louis, Mo., and Burlington, Iowa.
A key part of the USACE's environmental mission is cleaning up
low-level radioactive and chemical waste from the nation's early
atomic weapons program through the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial
Action Program (FUSRAP). Leidos will work cooperatively with the
USACE, St. Louis District to
employ innovative, cost-effective environmental investigations and
remedial solutions at four major sites that were contaminated with

potentially impacted vicinity properties.
With more than 18 years performing all scope elements for USACE
St. Louis FUSRAP, Leidos possesses unmatched mission understanding
and program-specific expertise in radiological clearance, remedial
design and remediation of contaminated soils, and the management of
the only on-site radiochemistry laboratory with Department of
Defense Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP)
accreditation. The Leidos team will perform HTRW investigations,
conduct environmental monitoring, develop Comprehensive
Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)
decision documents, manage/operate a full-service radiological
laboratory, provide data management, and support community
involvement efforts for environmental programs managed by
