What to do if you get a FAIL or WARNING response:

STEP 1

Browser Name: We optimise the site for Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and Mozilla Firefox. Other browsers will almost certainly work for you, but IE and Firefox are recommended.

Version Number: It is always a good idea to make sure you have the latest version of your browser. To get the latest version of IE run Windows Update from the Start Menu, Firefox can be updated by going to Help at the top of the browser and selecting "Check for Updates..."

Javascript Version: If you are running version 1.3 or above you should be fine. Javascript is part of the IE and Firefox browsers and should not need updating if you are using either of these.

Operating System: This part of the test is useful for our support staff to identify the operating system (OS) you are using. We write the site primarily for Windows PCs and Apple Macs. Although we do not directly support them, Linux systems should also be fine.

Java Enabled: A FAIL response on this test will mean you either don't have Java installed or it is not enabled in your browser. The first thing to do would be to check if it is installed.
Go to Java.com and click the big blue button to download the latest version of the software. The download should start automatically, just follow the steps through to install it all. Once installed restart your computer and try the website again. If you are still having problems you need to make sure Java is enabled.
To do this in Firefox go to Tools > Options, click the Content tab and make sure the box for Enable Java is ticked.
In IE go to Tools > Manage Add-Ons > Enable or Disable Add-Ons. You need to make sure everything published by Sun Microsytems is enabled, there may be anything from 2-7 separate entries, some may appear to have been published by (Not verified) Sun Microsystems.
Once you have enabled Java restart the browser and try the site again.
