The Sovereignty Summit Brings Together
Tribal Leaders, Policy Advocates and Experts in Tribal Law to Shape
the Future of Cannabis in Tribal Nations
International cannabis and lifestyle brand Cookies is partnering
with Native Humboldt Farms, an indigenous-led legacy cannabis brand
founded by Lindsey Renner, to co-host the Sovereignty Summit, an
immersive, three-day educational forum at the Cookies’ One Log
Campus in Northern California’s Humboldt County from Sept. 5-7. The
event brings together industry thought leaders and Tribal leaders
from across the nation to facilitate the conversations and
collaborations needed to support tribes as they embark on the
creation of a sovereign cannabis market.
“Tribal Nations are in a unique position, operating with a level
of sovereignty similar to foreign nations,” said Lindsey Renner,
Founder of Native Humboldt and enrolled member of the Round Valley
Indian Tribes. “We’re seeing a lot of tribes getting into cannabis
individually. It's an important moment to facilitate collaboration
and bring Tribal leaders together. This summit will provide the
opportunity for leaders of these nations to bridge the gap and
share resources and be stronger together.”
The Sovereignty Summit will offer an intimate setting with
panels, roundtable discussions and networking led by some of the
most influential people in the cannabis industry. Among attendees
will be leaders of 23 influential Tribal Nations throughout the
United States such as: Flandreau Santee Sioux (South Dakota), Fort
Belknap Indian Community (Montana), Red Lake Nation (Minnesota),
Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate (North Dakota / South Dakota), Big Valley
Rancheria (California) and the Muscogee Nation (Oklahoma). The goal
of the summit is to provide the support and resources needed to
ensure successful outcomes in Tribal markets.
“Shaping newly emerging markets is no small feat,” says Amanda
Friedman, Head of Social Impact at Cookies. “Our goal is to further
empower Tribal leaders with learnings from mature markets, to share
knowledge & resources, and provide access to existing
ecosystems to support a successful Tribal market.”
The Sovereignty Summit is proudly supported by the premier
cannabis cultivation platform AROYA, committed to impactful
partnerships for a thriving cannabis industry. Visit them at
