         JONATHAN JAMES LIMITED - MANAGEMENT BUY-OUT

Taylor Woodrow plc's Construction Division today concluded the
sale of shares of Jonathan James Limited, to a management buy-
out team, for a consideration in the order of #300,000 cash. 
Jonathan James is one of the leading interior and exterior
finishes sub-contractors in the construction industry and
achieved a turnover of #8m in 1997.  It specialises in fibrous
plaster and GRG, solid plastering, screeding, dry lining,
suspended ceilings and rendering.

The company was founded in 1952, initially as a plastering
contractor, based in Putney.  It was acquired by Taylor Woodrow
Construction Limited in 1957.

The disposal of Jonathan James will allow Taylor Woodrow's
Construction Division to continue to concentrate on its core
competencies.
