TAYLOR WOODROW CONSTRUCTION LTD ANNOUNCES
NEW ORGANISATION FOR FUTURE GROWTH
Following a comprehensive review of its worldwide activities, Taylor
Woodrow Construction Ltd, today announced details of a new construction and
engineering organisation.
Commenting, new chairman and managing director of TWC, Bruce Russell said,
"Our strategy is to focus on providing high quality construction solutions
to clients around the world and create growth and profitable returns for
the Taylor Woodrow Group. In order to achieve this we have to concentrate
on our core competencies and focus on bidding selectively for new work only
in areas where we have real competitive advantage.
"In particular we have looked very closely at the way our business was
organised and implemented a number of changes to facilitate this
concentration on core expertise."
At present there are a large number of subsidiary companies within TWC.
The intention is to gradually amalgamate all these operations into a single
TWC company to make better use of resources.
The organisation will then be divided into five principal operating
divisions:
* Africa,
* Asia Pacific,
* Europe P Building,
* Europe - Civil Engineering,
* Worldwide - Engineering
These are to be supported by three reshaped principal service departments:
finance, commercial and human resources.
The major changes are occurring in the newly formed Europe P Building and
worldwide Engineering divisions.
Europe Building will incorporate all management contracting, facilities
management activity, and general building activity in the UK and mainland
Europe. In addition, it will oversee the remaining operations in the Middle
East.
Worldwide Engineering joins the skills of the existing process and
engineering, engineering consultancy and research and development
operations creating a significant engineering led division with a worldwide
remit.
'This is part of a long term process of continuous improvement which is
designed to support the growth of the construction and engineering
business, improve the services and products that we offer to customers
worldwide and increase the returns to the Group,' said Bruce Russell.
