Taylor Woodrow plc ("TW") announces that Taylor Woodrow QUEST Trustee Limited,
a wholly-owned subsidiary of TW has on 27 October 1999 purchased in the market
1,097,183 25p ordinary shares of TW at a price of 143.5p per share.

The shares have been purchased to meet the requirements of options awarded to
employees of TW and its U.K. subsidiaries under the Group's Savings-Related
Share Option Scheme ("the Scheme") 1994 (5-year options) and 1996 (3-year
options).

(No new interest of any director of TW arises as a result of this
transaction).
