                ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT
                         YEAR STARTS ON A STRONG NOTE

At the Annual General Meeting of Total Systems plc, suppliers of established
software products and services to the insurance sector of the financial
services market and related industries, held earlier today in London, Terry
Bourne, Chairman, made the following statement regarding current trading:

"We started the current year with a healthy backlog of work having a value of
#3.6 million. This has given us a very strong start to the year, which will be
demonstrated by considerably improved levels of turnover and profit at the
half year stage. There is mounting evidence that many organisations, which had
deferred investment decisions, are now looking to invest in new systems. Our
pipeline of prospective clients continues to grow but the full year's
performance will depend on how quickly these enquiries can be turned into
actual contract gains. Both the size and quality of our client and prospect
base have increased significantly, particularly in relation to Ultima, our
general lines insurance system.

The success of Ultima, a growing order pipeline in its core sector and the
potential to enter other appropriate industries should enable your Company to
continue to make progress over the coming years.

During the year ended 31 March 2001 a significant number of contracts for
Ultima were signed with new clients and work with such clients continues in
the current financial year.  The Board is confident of gaining further new
contracts for Ultima in the short-term.

We are continuing to make inroads into the pensions market with Optima 2000+
which provides a fund management and investment accounting system for pension
funds. It is anticipated that a contract with a new client will be signed
shortly.

Our presence in the e-commerce market is under ongoing development both in
relation to new areas of business and Ultima.

Hence I am pleased to report that trading across all areas of the Company is
buoyant, orders are being gained from existing and new clients, and we expect
to be in an even stronger position at the time of our next financial results."
