TV Icon William Shatner Goes From Starship Captain to 'Cameraman' as a Guest Celebrity Photographer for Playboy.com Shatner's Photos of Playboy Playmate Deanna Brooks Can be Found Exclusively on Playboy.com NEW YORK, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Television icon William Shatner has played a macho Starship Captain and a heroic policeman but has he ever worked as a professional photographer? He has now. Shatner recently took a break from his insane schedule -- he's on The Practice, he's about to film the sequel to Miss Congeniality and he has an album coming out this summer -- to enter somewhat unfamiliar territory by taking on the role of Playboy photographer for an exclusive Playboy.com shoot. The photo shoot took place at Playboy's Santa Monica studio and Shatner's subject was Playboy Playmate Deanna Brooks, Miss May 1998. Shatner wasted no time getting behind the camera and posing his model for the unusual photographs. A lifelong photography buff, Shatner is a huge fan of photography and even requested an exotic fisheye lens to shoot the kind of artistic images he was after. "I have been fascinated with photography most of my life," Shatner explained to Playboy.com. "I came here with the intention of not just shooting a beautiful girl, but photographing those parts of her that say something to me -- the texture of her skin, the curve of her body and the femininity that we men like to look at." Shatner also participated in a "Dirty Dozen" interview, Playboy.com's 12-question "sexamination," where he talks about everything from making out to his own music to sex with an alien. Shatner's pictorial of Deanna Brooks, plus behind-the-scenes photographs and video from the session can be seen only in the Playboy Cyber Club ( http://cyber.playboy.com/ ), Playboy.com's subscription site.
