                        Appointment of Finance Director

The Directors of Lopex are pleased to announce the appointment of Barrie
Pearson as Finance Director with immediate effect.  He succeeds Barrie Warman
who retired on 31 December 1998.

Barrie Pearson, aged 48, brings a wealth of financial expertise to Lopex with
previous involvement as finance director with Avesco plc, SeaPerfect plc and
Colefax and Fowler Group plc.

The Directors would like to express their thanks to Barrie Warman for his
tremendous support to Lopex during his tenure as finance director.
