RETURN OF VALUE TO SHAREHOLDERS - RESULTS OF COURT HEARING

Luminar plc ("Luminar") is pleased to announce that at a hearing today, the High
Court sanctioned the proposed scheme of arrangement under section 425 of the
Companies Act 1985 (the "Scheme") between Luminar and its shareholders involving
the introduction of a new holding company,  Luminar Group Holdings plc, in
connection with the return of approximately #41 million to shareholders.

It is intended that an office copy of the Court order sanctioning the Scheme and
confirming the capital reduction comprised in the Scheme will be delivered to
the Registrar of Companies on 19 October 2007 for registration by the Registrar
of Companies on 19 October 2007. At such stage, the Scheme will become
effective.

Application has been made for 61,578,804 New Ordinary Shares of 600 pence each
and 3,580,369 New Luminar Warrants to be admitted to the Official List and to
trading on the London Stock Exchange. It is expected that Admission will become
effective and that dealings will commence at 8:00 a.m. on 19 October 2007.
Delisting of the Existing Ordinary Shares and Luminar Warrants is also expected
to take place at 8:00 a.m. on 19 October 2007.

Defined terms used in this announcement have the same meanings as in the scheme
circular posted to Luminar shareholders on 4 September 2007.
