Director Shareholding

Luminar plc announces the following transaction by an Executive Director in its
ordinary shares of 25 pence as summarised below.

On 24 August 2007, Nick Beighton acquired 24,350 shares on the vesting of the
first half of his 2006 restricted share award (including shares acquired under
dividend reinvestment provisions). The shares were acquired for nil cost. Mr
Beighton sold 11,854 of the shares at #6.92 to cover income tax and employee's
and employers' national insurance contributions for which he was liable on such
vesting (the "Tax Liability") and retained 12,496 shares, representing 0.017%
and 0.018% of the issued share capital respectively.

Nick Beighton's total shareholding following this notification has increased
from Nil shares to 12,496 shares representing 0.018% of the issued share
capital. Nick Beighton has an indirect interest in the second half of his 2006
restricted share award in respect of 24,350 shares which are currently held by
the Luminar plc Employee Trust and which vest on 31 July 2008. Nick Beighton's
total interest in the issued share capital of Luminar plc is 36,846 shares
representing 0.054% of the issued share capital.

The Company was informed of this transaction on 24 August 2007.

The shares were transferred to Mr Beighton from the Luminar plc Employee Trust.
The shares sold to satisfy the Tax Liability were purchased by the Luminar plc
Employee Trust.

This notification is made in accordance with DR 3.1.4R(1)(a) and (b).
