DONG MAO HUO GOLD PROJECT
FURTHER ENCOURAGING DRILL RESULTS
LONDON - 30 June 2008 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG) is pleased to
announce encouraging second batch of results from 14 additional holes completed
in the May-June 2008 reverse circulation ("RC") drilling programme at the Dong
Mao Huo gold project in the Nei Menggu Autonomous Region of Northern China.
Highlights:
* Results confirm the presence of 1 gramme per tonne gold ("g/t Au") in 8 out
of 14 holes.
* Hole RC30A intersected 12 metres of 8.99 g/t gold from 26 metres down hole,
including 25.75 g/t over 4 metres;
* Hole RC24 intersected 16 metres of 1.51 g/t gold from 67 metres down hole,
including 12.35 g/t over 1 metre;
* Hole RC30 intersected three zones of oxide mineralisation between 8 and 24
metres down hole: 2 metres of 4.90 g/t gold, 2 metres of 2.82 g/t gold and
1 metre of 2.59 g/t gold;
* Hole RC25 intersected 2 metres of 3.43 g/t gold from 34 metres down hole;
* Hole RC26A intersected 3 metres of 2.35 g/t gold from 55 metres down hole
and 9 metres of 1.55 g/t gold from 66 metres down hole;
* Hole RC28 intersected 9 metres of 1.57 g/t gold from 89 metres down hole;
* Hole RC32A intersected 22 metres of 0.75 g/t gold from 3 metres down hole,
including 4 metres of 1.73 g/t;
* Hole RC32 intersected 4 metres of 1.76 g/t gold from 3 metres down hole.
* To date, assay results of 17 out of 23 holes have validated the presence of
significant gold mineralisation. Assay results are still pending for the
other 27 holes.
Jeff Malaihollo, Managing Director of Central China Goldfields, comments:
"The results from Hole RC30A and Hole RC24 further confirm the presence of very
high-grade gold-silver-base metal mineralisation under the oxide gold. Hole
RC30A is located at the north-eastern end of the West Hill, by comparison Hole
CH04 which returned 1.9 metres @ 37 g/t Au, 275 g/t Ag and 2.75% Cu and Hole
RC24 are located on the south-western end of the West Hill. We are therefore
optimistic that further high-grade gold pods will be identified.
The results from the remaining holes are also inline with our expectation of
long intersections of lower grade material which further define a mineable
block.
Overall the bulk gold mineralisation appears to be of modest grade supplemented
by a number of higher-grade gold-silver-base metal pods which may substantially
increase the overall economic value of the project."

Drilling Results Details:
A reverse circulation ("RC") drill programme was undertaken by Beijing Kente
Drilling Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Drillcorp Group from 4 May to 15 June
2008. The aim is to assist mine planning by infilling the drill grid from 80 x
80 metres to about 40 x 40 metres. The drilling also confirmed that the trend
of gold mineralisation is generally northerly which is transverse to the
east-west trend of the host rhyodacite breccia. The programme consisted of 50
holes totaling 5,328 metres. To date, the total drilling is 7,129 metres of RC
and 3,294.60 metres of core, or a grand total of 10,423.60 metres.
The gold mineralisation at Dong Mao Huo is associated with a 800m long x 120m
wide east-west trending structurally emplaced rhyodacite breccia/dyke in an
orthogneiss and schist complex. The gold-base metal mineralisation is generally
associated with northerly trending structures characterised by hydraulic
emplacement of sulphides along fractures and zones of hydrothermal breccias.
The ore minerals are pyrite and chalcopyrite with minor to trace amounts of
sphalerite, chalcocite, galena and arsenopyrite as disseminations, fracture and
breccia fills. Deep weathering has oxidised the mineralised zone down to about
35 - 50 metres.
A second batch of gold assay results from 14 additional holes (RC23A to RC30A)
has been received from the drill programme. The first batch of results from the
first 9 holes was released last 18 June 2008. To date, 13 out of 17 east-west
directed holes intersected significant gold mineralisation (>1 g/t Au), thereby
confirming the general northerly trends of the mineralised structures. In this
batch of results, east-directed Hole RC29 would have intersected mineralisation
but hit an underground mine working and had to be aborted.
At about 0.35 g/t Au cut-off, the assay results of the RC holes are outlined in
Table 1.

Sampling and Analytical Details
RC drilling uses 139.7mm sized drill rods producing about 25-30 kilograms of
crushed rock every one metre of drilling with largest fragment size at about 1
centimetre. Samples were taken every one metre and split down to about 1.5-2
kilograms using a Jones sample splitter at the drillsite. Sample preparation
and chemical analysis were done by Intertek Testing Service Ltd. Shanghai at
Beijing. Sample preparation involves crushing and pulverisation of the
subsamples to minus 75 microns. Gold was analysed by 50 grammes fire assay with
AAS finish and 34 other elements by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission
spectroscopy (ICP-OES). One of the 35 elements are reported here: gold (Au).
The detection limits for Au is 0.005 part per million (ppm). Routine
international-standard quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures
were adopted. Duplicate sampling was done every tenth sample at the drillsite
and Intertek utilised internal standard procedures for standard, blank and
replicate sample testing.
