DMH PRELIMINARY DRILL RESULTS
LONDON - 28 November 2007 - Central China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG) is pleased
to announce preliminary results from its first two drill holes on the 2,000m
autumn diamond drilling programme at the Dong Mao Huo gold project in China.
Highlights:
* CH04 returned 45.7 metres at 2.7 g/t gold from 107.5 metres downhole.
* CH05 returned 10.7 metres at 0.63 g/t gold from 11.3 metres downhole.
* CH04 and CH05 indicate significant potential for base metal credit. Base
metal assay results are pending.
* The zone of mineralisation now extends beyond 320 metres in strike length.
Hole CH04 is a 80 metres step out from the Reverse Circulation ("RC") drill
hole RC08, drilling results for which were announced on 16 October 2007.
Three one metre sections of the assays from hole CH04 have been averaged at
zero mineralisation as these results were not available at this time. In the
event of a material change the full assay values will be subsequently made
available as and when the base metal credit values have been received.
The purpose of this diamond drilling programme is to infill the previous RC
drill holes (announced 24 September 2007 and 16 October 2007) in order to
better understand the controls on mineralisation, to test the metallurgy of the
oxide and sulphide ores, to obtain geotechnical data and to test the potential
for deeper sulphide ores.
The Company is also pleased to report that consultants from Chinese Nonferrous
Engineering and Research Institute (ENFI) have been on site to make an initial
assessment on the viability of putting the Dong Mao Huo mine back into
production.
The Dong Mao Huo near surface gold project is now the focus of the Company's
activities over the winter months as the Company seeks to accelerate this
project with a view to potentially restarting production in Q1 2009.
