                HUBEI XIANG SHUI TAN GOLD INC. BUSINESS LICENCE                

LONDON - 2 May 2006 - Following our news release of 10 April 2005, Central
China Goldfields plc (AIM: GGG, GGGW) is pleased to announce that the Company
has received the Business Licence for the Sino-Foreign Joint Venture Company
called Hubei Xiang Shui Tan Gold Inc.

The Company will now start the process of transferring the Exploration Licence
from the Hubei North East Geological Team to Hubei Xiang Shui Tan Gold Inc.
Exploration work at Xiang Shui Tan will commence in early May 2006.

Details of the Xiang Shui Tan Project and the Joint Venture terms are contained
in the news release of 15 November 2005.
