APPOINTMENT OF EXPLORATION MANAGER
LONDON - 13 February 2006 - Central China Goldfields plc announces the
appointment of Ciceron "Jun" Angeles as the Exploration Manager of Central
China Goldfields plc. to replace Chris Ford who has stepped down due to family
reasons.
Jun Angeles is a geologist with 28 years of experience in gold-base metal
exploration in Asia, mainly Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, China and Iran,
with minor assignments in Vietnam, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Myanmar and
Kyrgyzstan. His fields of specialisation include epithermal gold-silver,
porphyry copper-gold and Carlin styles of mineralisation.
He obtained his MSc in Mineral Exploration from the University of New South
Wales, Australia in 1985 and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of
Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM). Jun was the Asia Exploration Manager for
Newcrest during which time Newcrest brought the Gosowong Mine into production.
Subsequently Jun spent 2 years in 2002 - 2004 working in the Inner Mongolia and
Heilongjiang Provinces of China.
Jun will be directing Central China Goldfields' Exploration and Development
programmes in China and will be spending a majority of his time on generative
work outside the Baima and Qiaoqiaoshang areas.
The Company also has appointed Roberto Tan as the Project Manager for the Baima
area and the Qiaoqiaoshang deposit in the Snow Mountain Project.
Roberto is geologist with 19 years of experience working as both mine and
exploration geologist in China, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Indonesia and the
Philippines. For the last year Roberto has worked in the Shandong Province of
China and evaluated numerous gold and copper properties in Mongolia and China.

We are delighted that someone with Jun Angeles' calibre has joined us at
Central China Goldfields. We will be using Jun's experience to conduct our
exploration efforts and aggressively pursue other opportunities in China.
Our 2005 exploration programme has verified the work conducted by our partners,
the SBMGE, who identified around 1 million ounces of inferred resources* in the
Snow Mountain Project. In addition we have identified a number of new areas of
mineralisation. Our focus in 2006 will be in adding resources to both the Baima
area and the Qiaoqioashang deposit. Roberto Tan's experience as exploration and
mine geologist will be valuable in managing these two areas.

growth."
* The Inferred Resources quoted is not compliant to international standards
such as the Canadian 43-101 standard. The Canadian 43-101 standard is developed
by the Canadian Securities Administrators to govern how issuers disclose
scientific and technical information about their mineral projects to the
public.
