Management Changes
The Board of Countryside Properties PLC ("Countryside" or "the
company") today announces the following management changes.
After 35 years with the company, Richard Cherry, Chief Executive
of Countryside's Partnerships division, has announced his plans to
retire from the business at the end of this financial year. Richard
will step down from his role as Chief Executive, Partnerships on 2
May 2017 and assume the role of Group New Business Director until
he leaves the company at the end of September. Richard will remain
a member of the Executive Committee until his departure.
Graham Cherry, currently Chief Executive of Countryside's
Housebuilding division, will become Chief Executive of Partnerships
South effective 2 May 2017, retaining his current seat on the
Executive Committee. Additionally, Ian Kelley, Chief Executive of
Partnerships North will join the Executive Committee on 2 May
2017.
Countryside is also pleased to announce today the appointment of
Phillip Lyons as Chief Executive, Housebuilding, effective 2 May
2017. In this role, Phillip will be responsible for all
Housebuilding activity of the Group, and will sit on the Executive
Committee. Phillip was most recently Divisional Managing Director,
London and South East for Taylor Wimpey and has over 30 years'
industry experience.
Commenting on the changes to the Partnerships division, Group
Chief Executive, Ian Sutcliffe said:
"Richard has played a pivotal role in building Countryside into
the business it is today, in particular helping establish
Countryside as the leading urban regeneration partner. On behalf of
the Board, I would like to thank Richard for his invaluable
contribution to Countryside and wish him well for the next chapter
of his life."
Speaking on the appointment of Phillip Lyons as Chief Executive,
Housebuilding, Ian Sutcliffe added:
"I am also delighted to welcome Phillip Lyons to the company.
Securing Phillip's experience, skills and industry knowledge built
over a 30 year career in the sector, positions us well to maintain
our strong growth trajectory in Housebuilding. I look forward to
working with him over the years to come."
