Exercise of Options under the Executive Share Option Plan

Following the offer by AquaInvest Acquisitions Limited for the Company becoming
unconditional, and as set out in the circular to shareholders dated 27 October
2004, awards and options granted under the South Staffordshire 2004 Long Term
Incentive Plan and the South Staffordshire 2004 Discretionary Share Option Plan
are exercisable in full.

Exercise of Options under the Executive Share Option Plan
The following options have been exercised in respect of ordinary shares of 42.5p
each and shares have today been allotted:

This represents the above Directors total holding under the Executive Share
Option Scheme. Mr Page and Dr Carnell's shareholdings have also been notified
through South Staffordshire Plc.

It is also announced that the Directors have accepted the terms of the Offer by
AquaInvest in respect of the above shares.

Vesting of Awards under the Long Term Incentive Plan

It is announced that the South Staffordshire Employee Benefit Trust which holds
shares for the benefit of employees, including Directors, has today transferred
shares to the following Directors under the rules of the Long Term Incentive
Plan:

This represents the above Directors total holding under the Long Term Incentive

AquaInvest in respect of the above shares.
