SOCIETE D'EXPLORATION MINIERE VIOR INC. (TSX VENTURE:
VIO)(FRANKFURT: VL5) - is pleased to report on results of a till
sampling program completed this fall on its 100%-owned, 800-hectare
Beauchastel property (the "Property"), located 20 kilometres
northwest of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.
A 24-till sampling program was completed this fall on the
Property on three SW-NE transects targeting historical gold
mineralization of the "D" Zone. Visual counts of gold grains in
15-kg till samples returned highly anomalous values of up to 1,032
individual grains (sample BC10-015). Three other samples (BC10-001,
BC10-002 and BC10-011) each returned over 100 visible gold grains.
Three of the highest counts are lined up along a SSE direction
while the fourth count appears to be SSW from the maximum of 1,032
gold grains. Almost 80% of the gold grains of the maximum count
(BC10-015 sample) exhibit pristine shapes while this proportion
decreases to 30% to 50% in the three other samples with higher 100
gold grain counts. The highly gold-bearing till samples define a
narrow dispersal train associated with the recent S-SE ice flow,
which suggests an anomalous train towards the "D" Zone or a
distinct gold source further to the north. Additional till sampling
will be necessary to better delineate the potential sources of the
gold rich till.
The Company is currently conducting a 1,200 to 1,500-metre
diamond drilling program on the Property to follow up on gold
intercepts encountered in 1998 on the "D" Zone during a
3-short-hole program. At that time, the Company cut in hole BC
98-02 an intercept of 1.08 g/T gold over 19.5 metres, including
4.38 g/T gold over 3 metres, and another intercept of 6.72 g/T gold
over 3 metres. Hole BC 98-03, located 75 metres to the west, has
cut an intercept of 0.91 g/T gold over 19.5 metres, including 1.44
g/T gold over 9 metres. These cuts are found less than 50 metres
below surface.
Till samples were collected by and under the supervision of
glacial till specialist Remi Charbonneau, PhD. P.Geo., with the
assistance of employees of Services Techniques Geonordic. Samples
were shipped to Ottawa for processing at Overburden Drilling
Management Ltd. (ODM).
