WRG Western Energy Services Corp

Western Energy Services Corp. ("Western" or the "Company") (TSX:WRG) announces
that Dale E. Tremblay, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Western, will
be retiring as Chairman, Director and CEO of the Company effective December 1,
2013. Mr. Tremblay has held those positions since December 2009, when Mr.
Tremblay led a recapitalization of Western and the subsequent strategic
initiatives which resulted in Western becoming a significant Canadian-based
oilfield contract drilling and well servicing company. Mr. Tremblay will
continue to provide transitional assistance to the Company until May 31, 2014.
In addition, Mr. Murray Mullen will be retiring from the Board effective
December 1, 2013. Mr. Mullen was one of the original directors of Western and
was involved in the December 2009 recapitalization.


As a result of the retirements of Mr. Tremblay and Mr. Mullen, the Board of
Directors is pleased to announce that, effective December 1, 2013, Mr. Ron
Mathison has been appointed Chairman of the Board and Mr. Alex MacAusland, the
current President and Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed President,
Chief Executive Officer and a Director of the Company.


The Board would like to sincerely thank Dale and Murray for their significant
contributions and dedication to the growth of Western. Dale was instrumental in
building the business from the time of the recapitalization into a leading
Canadian oilfield service company, and his experience and leadership were key
elements to the Company's success. In addition, Mr. Mullen's contributions to
the Board as lead director since the recapitalization have been significant and
his guidance has been a key element of the Company's success to date. The Board
wishes to thank each of Dale and Murray for their contributions and wishes them
the very best in their respective future endeavours.
