2022 /CNW/ - Trevali Mining Corporation

announces that early this morning a flooding event occurred after
heavy rainfall in which the Company's Perkoa mine in Burkina Faso was flooded in certain areas. The
mine was evacuated, and mine rescue efforts were immediately
initiated and are ongoing. Eight workers are currently missing
underground.
The incident has been reported to the Burkinabe authorities.
Mining and milling operations at Perkoa have been suspended and the
Company is now working closely with the authorities to respond
effectively.
Ricus Grimbeek, President and Chief Executive Officer,
commented, "We are deeply saddened by this unexpected event. Our
immediate focus is on search and rescue. We will provide further
updates as the situation unfolds and we determine the cause of the
flooding event. Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and
colleagues that have been impacted."
