Procter & Gamble Co. on Monday added a set of risk factors
that incorporate effects of health concerns as the coronavirus
pandemic has disrupted businesses.
The company said it could be hurt by the fear of exposure to or
effects of a disease's spread, such as reduced travel or
recommendations from governmental authorities to avoid large
gatherings as a result of the pandemic.
"We must successfully manage the demand, supply, and operational
challenges associated with the actual or perceived effects of a
disease outbreak, including epidemics, pandemics, or similar
widespread public health concerns," the company said.
The effects the company is taking into account include
significant reductions in demand for its products, inability to
meet customers' needs and achieve costs targets due to
manufacturing and supply disruptions, failure of third parties to
meet their obligations to the company and political conditions that
could limit its operations.
