Pitney Bowes (NYSE:PBI), a global technology company that
provides commerce solutions in the areas of ecommerce, shipping,
mailing, and data, in partnership with RCG Global Services, and the
Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), today announced the
winners of the 2018 Healthcare Hackathon, a fast-paced 24-hour
competition to develop creative and innovative Healthcare solutions
through Pitney Bowes market-leading datasets. The event, which took
place May 18 to May 19, 2018, brought together nearly 100
developers from the Healthcare industry who submitted 14 new
technology solutions.
In a ceremony on Monday, May 21st, the following winners were
selected by a panel of Healthcare executives and industry
experts:
- ArcNap, the First Place
Healthcare Hackathon winner, created a solution for diverse
populations and their available medical resources. The solution
analyzes and measures Healthcare accessibility for demographics
with varying requirements, and links those populations to
Healthcare providers within their given area.
- Second Place was awarded to
IntelliHealth, which created a mobile application weaving
together impactful data points that reduce costly errors, increase
network utilization, and automate error resolution for Insurance
and Healthcare providers.
- Team Pesto received the Third
Place award for the development of a user application that
incorporates datasets to analyze conditions that cause people to
seek medical emergency attention, and matches patients with an
appropriate Healthcare provider.
Mark Taylor, SVP Global Software Channels at Pitney Bowes said,
“There’s an incredible amount of technical talent in Georgia. By
partnering with TAG and RCG, we saw the Georgia Healthcare
Hackathon as a great opportunity to draw out this talent in a way
that can positively impact the Healthcare community. I’m proud of
how each team leveraged Pitney Bowes data to create solutions that
will make a difference.”
Teams were provided with access to over 200 datasets, including
Pitney Bowes datasets that offered a comprehensive portfolio of
business, geographic, and industry-specific data. Teams were also
encouraged to use the data visualization tools of their choice.
“The Healthcare industry is in constant evolution. Partnering
with Pitney Bowes to leverage location intelligence and spatial
data for Healthcare was a unique opportunity,” says Jim Dwyer, SVP
Healthcare at RCG Global Services. “By offering our data to the
Atlanta developer community, we saw high-value solutions come out
of the Healthcare Hackathon in just two days.”
The hackathon sought new and inventive ways to leverage location
intelligence to solve for health plan problems in areas, such
as:

and Location Predictors
