Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) announced today that it has been
named to Training Magazine’s “Training Top 125” list for the second
consecutive year. The company rose to No. 42 on the list, from No.
82 in 2009. The magazine publishes an annual ranking of
organizations that excel in employee training and development.
In commending Pitney Bowes, Training cited the company’s
Certified Mailstream Consultant program as one that links customer
applications to Pitney Bowes solutions, helping participants
“leverage the necessary postal and carrier regulations to not only
generate effective ROI, but also to educate customers on postal
requirements” for successful direct mail results.
“At Pitney Bowes, we consider the knowledge of our workforce a
key differentiator in the solutions that we offer customers,” said
Tina Busch, vice president, learning and performance. “In fact, a
deep partnership exists between the learning support functions and
the company’s business units. Our professional development
initiatives show that collaboration and customer focus are always
top of mind at Pitney Bowes.”
Pitney Bowes has been recognized extensively for its commitment
to people. In addition to the “Training Top 125” ranking, the
company was recently named by Black Enterprise magazine as one of
“40 Best Companies for Diversity”; Black MBA Magazine’s ”Best 50
companies for Black Professionals”; and Asian Enterprise’s “Top 20
U.S. companies for Asian Americans.”
Training magazine determines the Top 125 companies by measuring
quantitative and qualitative data. For the quantitative portion, an
outside research company scores each organization in five different
areas: training program/scope; tuition reimbursement; training
infrastructure and delivery; evaluation/metrics; and human
resources. Qualitative data includes demonstrable results, progress
of programs, innovation, success factors, training strategically
linked to business goals, and corporate commitment to training,
among others.
