Constellation Energy Donates $20,000 to Area Environmental Projects Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Trust for Public Land Latest Recipients of National Energy Company Grants BALTIMORE, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG) today announced donations totaling $20,000 to two environmental organizations - the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) and the Trust for Public Land (TPL). Each will receive $10,000 in support of their efforts to improve the environment and enhance community education. "Constellation Energy is mindful that the nature of our business directly links us with the natural resources we all share," said Mayo A. Shattuck III, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Constellation Energy. "We are pleased to enter into partnerships with organizations that share our belief in environmental stewardship. These grants are designed with that philosophy in mind and will help promote the preservation and protection of the Chesapeake Watershed, one of Maryland's most precious natural resources." For its part, the CBF plans to utilize its grant to enhance its Maryland Education Program, an initiative that invests in students and teachers resulting in an active constituency that values the Chesapeake Bay and is willing to work to preserve it. The TPL grant has been earmarked for use in completing the Gwynns Falls Trail, a 14-mile hiking and biking greenway that will link 30 low-to-moderate income neighborhoods to urban wilderness. These most recent grants are consistent with Constellation Energy's commitment to support social investments focused on education, economic development and the environment. The CBF, for example, is one of four area nonprofit organizations including Kennedy Krieger Institute, The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins and Living Classrooms Foundation, which expect to receive $100,000 each this year from the proceeds of the second Constellation Energy Classic.
