Constellation Energy-Nashville District Energy Plant Celebrates
Successful First Year of Operation NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 1
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG) today
announced that its Nashville District Energy Plant has successfully
completed its first year of operation with delivery of more than
$14 million in heating and cooling services to 38 major public and
private buildings in downtown Nashville. "During our first year
reliability was excellent, as the plant provided uninterrupted
steam heating and chilled water cooling to all of our customers,"
said Greg Jarosinski, president of Constellation Energy's Projects
& Services Group, which oversees the plant's operation. "We
have a great workforce in Nashville, and this is a significant
milestone that highlights our ability to build and manage these
kinds of large-scale heating and cooling facilities." Over the next
decade, the District Energy Plant is expected to save the City of
Nashville approximately $66 million in energy costs. Nashville
Mayor Bill Purcell, who attended the recent one-year anniversary
celebration at the plant, said Constellation "is meeting and
exceeding expectations." "They worked hard to make this first year
a success both for the city and its customers," Purcell said. "All
the reports are positive as is the outlook for the years ahead."
