Google Inc. said Chief Financial Officer Patrick Pichette plans
to retire from the tech giant after nearly seven years in the
position.
No departure date has been determined for Mr. Pichette, who
plans to assist in the search for his replacement and help with the
transition, which Google expects will occur within the next six
months.
During Mr. Pichette's tenure at Google, the company's stock
price more than doubled and its revenue has more than tripled.
Google hired the Rhodes Scholar in 2008 to replace George Reyes.
At the time, Mr. Pichette was working at Bell Canada, where he was
president of operations and had served as chief financial officer
during his seven-year stint.
