Transatlantic stock market operator NYSE Euronext (NYX) Friday said it has decided to remove Air France-KLM (AFLYY) from France's index of leading shares, the CAC-40.

Air France-KLM will be replaced by French oil services company Technip SA (TEC.FR).

The switch will take effect Sept. 21.

With a market capital of just under EUR3 billion, Air France-KLM is currently the smallest company listed on the CAC-40. Its shares have fallen almost 9% since the beginning of the year and closed Friday up 1.5% on the day at EUR10.13.

Technip has a market capital of over EUR4.5 billion and is currently listed on France's mid-cap index, the SBF 120. Its shares have almost doubled in value since the beginning of 2009. Technip shares closed Friday +0.4% at EUR41.88.
