PR Newswire (US)
KALAMAZOO, Mich., March 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manatron, Inc.
(NASDAQ:MANA) a leading provider of software products and services
for local governments, including the revolutionary Government
Revenue Management(R) (GRM(R)) software, today announced that it
has received a contract totaling approximately $3.04 million over
five years from Washoe County, Nevada for its Manatron Tax
solution. Washoe County is a growing area located along the eastern
slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in western Nevada. The county
covers an area of 6,600 square miles in the northwest section of
the State bordering California and Oregon and has a population of
nearly 380,000. The county seat is the City of Reno, the third
largest city in Nevada. Manatron Tax is a powerful, flexible and
comprehensive property tax billing and collection solution for tax
collection officials. Manatron Tax provides the functionality to
maintain, bill, collect, distribute and track properties and
associated taxes. Manatron Tax enables tax collection officials to
manage real property, personal property, mobile homes, minerals,
motor vehicle and special assessments. Bill Berrum, Washoe County
Treasurer commented, "Manatron was selected as our new tax system
vendor following an exhaustive, nationwide search which included a
number of the 'giants' in the government technology industry. I am
excited about the potential for significantly increasing our
ability to serve our tax paying customers in a more efficient
manner -- speeding up payment processing, response time, and
banking deposits. Customer service has always been our highest
priority and our new Manatron system will only enhance that
service. Manatron's flexible and scalable architectural platform
was a major selling point, alleviating our serious concerns about
obsolescence. Another significant feature is the configurability of
the system to deal with procedural changes when the Legislature
alters the property tax concepts and processes." "Washoe County is
a significant new account and contract win for Manatron that
further solidifies our standing as the leading provider of property
tax software in North America," said Paul Sylvester, Manatron's
President and Chief Executive Officer. "Washoe County's existing
property tax software was nearing the end of its life cycle and
they were looking for a new solution that would provide a
technology upgrade and offer an advanced set of features. We are
pleased to be partnered with a very visible, high profile and
leading jurisdiction like Washoe County." About Manatron, Inc.:
