IMPCO Produces Innovative Hybrid Public Transport Fuel System CERRITOS, Calif., Dec. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IMPCO Technologies, Inc. announced today that IMPCO-BERU Technologies BV has supplied LPG engine management systems to Advanced Public Transportation Systems in Holland. These systems are used in the first series of newly designed innovative Phileas busses with hybrid propulsion. Phileas is an integral part of an innovative high quality intermediate public transport system. It combines the advantages of a tram- / metro system with the flexibility and the low exploitation costs of a bus system. The vehicle is unique in the world and designed from a clean sheet of paper using the latest state of the art technology for maximum efficiency and the best possible emissions. Phileas is designed with a modular electric-hybrid propulsion; the first developed Phileas version is equipped with a LP-Gas engine with generator and a battery package. Later versions can be equipped with a Natural Gas engine and also a hydrogen version is considered. All wheels, except the front wheels, are driven by separate electric motors.
