CAMPBELL, CA , a worldwide leader in Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, video conversion and digital media, today announced that it has been granted equipment authorization for its UWB Hub and Dongle development platform from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). With this latest approval, the PHY for Focus Enhancements' TT1013 UWB system received authorization as a modular transmitter for band group one.

"FCC certification of our PHY represents a key milestone for us on our way to a production solution," said Michael Ngo, vice president of engineering for Focus Enhancements semiconductor group. "This achievement validates our claim that our UWB solution provides a robust radio that customers can depend on for high speed multi-media transmissions."

The PHY is an integral part of the TT1013 UWB system in a package currently available in engineering samples. The device is expected to be qualified and available for wireless USB and multi-media streaming applications in the fourth quarter 2008.
