FORT WORTH, Texas, February 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Recognizing the pilot's need for situational awareness and
advanced training, Elbit Systems of America, LLC, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Elbit Systems Ltd., is showcasing its innovative
solutions in booth #322 during the 30th Annual Air Force
Association Air Warfare and Technology Exposition in Orlando, Florida, February 19-21, 2014.
JHMCS II is the next generation Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing
System (JHMCS) from the joint venture of Elbit Systems of America
and Rockwell Collins. Featuring more intelligence and capabilities
than its predecessor, the JHMCS II provides pilot intelligent
vision, enhanced situational awareness across the entire battle
space during day and night operations, and uses high definition,
color symbology while keeping the pilot's head up and eyes out. For
over 15 years, the JHMCS has been a combat-proven, helmet-mounted
display choice for fixed-wing aircraft, including the F/A-18, F-16,
and F-15. The JHMCS II was developed to meet the needs of the
modern military aircrew and provides a superior level of
situational awareness. "Pilots flying with JHMCS II will have a
decided advantage when they observe, orient, decide and act," said
Mark Hodge, Vice President Business
Development of Elbit Systems of America, LLC. "We worked alongside
warfighters to create a superior system that improves information
access."
To assist in preparing the pilots for combat, Elbit Systems of
America's Embedded Virtual Avionics
(EVA[TM]) provides live, virtual,
constructive (LVC) training making every sortie an training
opportunity. EVA transforms trainer aircraft into an advanced
virtual fighter aircraft and provides fighter aircraft with virtual
air and ground adversaries. "Pilots in the trainer are able to see,
operate, and experience functional weapon systems while our fighter
pilots get to train in challenging scenarios free from range,
threat and adversary aircraft scheduling constraints," commented
Hodge. "Because training is conducted in a virtual environment,
training effectiveness increases and cost decrease." An advanced,
proven solution, EVA is integrated with numerous mission computers
installed on the world's leading trainer aircraft.
Both the JHMCSII and EVA will be on display during the expo. For
