SAN JOSE, California,
July 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vision
Systems International (VSI), LLC, the leading developer of Helmet
Mounted Display (HMD) technologies for tactical aircraft, will
showcase at the Farnborough Air Show three of world's most advanced
HMD systems, including the company's F-35 GEN II HMD, Targo™ HMD
and its Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS).
Visitors to Farnborough Show, July
9-13, will have an opportunity to learn about all three HMD
systems and other VSI technologies at Booth B15, Hall
2. In addition, VSI plans to offer selected guests
and business partners an opportunity to see and feel what fighter
pilots experience when donning the helmets, via a simulated demo of
HMDS capabilities.
Earlier this year, VSI announced a $32
million contract for the delivery of its JHMCS technology to
Boeing Company for U.S. and Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
JHMCS was VSI's first combat-proven helmet and it remains the
world's leading helmet display for fixed-wing tactical
aircraft.
Last fall, Lockheed Martin Aerospace awarded VSI two additional
phases in the development of the HMD system for the F-35, enabling
VSI to enhance the F-35 HMDS currently in production for the 5th
generation Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.
Targo™ is VSI's low-cost, low-integration solution for light
attack, airlift and trainer aircraft. The system is designed
for any required level of integration, from an autonomous training
system to full-up integrated helmet display.
Each VSI technology is developed as a system. A critical
part of the company's success is its ability to integrate its
technologies with specific aircraft systems. VSI works closely with
its partners during the integration phase and throughout the system
service life to provide full capabilities and optimum
performance.
As the only combat-proven helmet mounted displays for fixed-wing
aircraft, VSI systems fly on the F/A-18, F-15, F-16 and the
F-35. In addition, the company's JHMCS technology has been
selected by more than 20 international air forces.
