When leading consumer audio manufacturer Marantz launched their
newest flagship consumer audio/video receiver (AVR), they turned to
Cirrus Logic Inc.'s (Nasdaq:CRUS) flagship audio digital signal
processor (DSP): the CS49520. The ultimate in quality, the Marantz
SR9600 is a multichannel AVR that brings a new level of audio
fidelity and installation flexibility to the premium receiver
consumer category. With its dual-core, 32-bit digital signal
processors, the Cirrus Logic CS49520 forms the heart of the audio
processing system, delivering 240 MIPS (millions of instructions
per second) of audio processing power for an extremely robust
capability to perform a wide variety of complex multichannel audio
processing audio algorithms, such as 7.1-channel Dolby Pro-Logic(R)
IIx, THX(R) Surround EX(TM), and full-blown DTS(R) technologies
including DTS-ES96/24, DTS Neo:6 Cinema and Music. "Cirrus Logic's
CS49520 gave us the superior audio performance with real
32-bit/96-kHz processing we needed to help make the SR9600
audio/video receiver the premier product in its category," said
Kevin Zarow, Vice President, Marketing & Product Development,
Marantz America, Inc. "The CS49520 is Cirrus Logic's flagship audio
DSP and it has been specifically designed for demanding products
that require advanced audio processing performance and features,"
said Keith Cheney, vice president, Embedded Products Division,
Cirrus Logic. "In recent years, Marantz and Cirrus Logic have
worked closely together to provide consumers with the latest in new
audio features, such as Dolby Pro Logic IIx, and we look forward to
working with Marantz in the future to continue to develop superior
audio products." The SR9600 has a suggested retail price of $4,199.
