Adesto Supports NXP’s i.MX RT1015 Crossover Processor Evaluation Kit with Flash Memory
March 25 2019 - 9:00AM
Adesto® Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: IOTS), a leading provider
of innovative application-specific semiconductors and embedded
systems for the Internet of Things (IoT) era, announced that it
supports NXP® Semiconductors’ i.MX RT1015 Crossover Processor
Evaluation Kit (EVK) with flash memory to provide an ideal off-chip
solution for cost-sensitive consumer electronics, home and building
automation, and industrial IoT products.
NXP’s i.MX RT crossover processors are designed to bridge the
gap between high-performance and integration while minimizing costs
to meet increasing requirements for high-performance embedded
processing at the edge. The processors are designed without on-chip
flash memory to deliver optimal power, performance and cost for a
range of emerging applications such as smart connected appliances
and wireless control panels. The i.MX RT1015 family builds on the
i.MX RT crossover processor series, using the Arm® Cortex®-M7 core
at 500 MHz and provides additional low-cost LQFP packages to
further simplify board design and layout. The EVK for the i.MX
RT1015 features a Quad interface with Adesto’s 128Mbit, 133MHz Quad
flash memory on-board.
In addition, Adesto’s proven experience in memory technology,
extensive systems knowledge and reputation for quality has led to a
successful ongoing collaboration between NXP and Adesto. Adesto is
a member of the NXP Partner Program, a global network of
independent companies that offer the vital tools, software,
technology, engineering services and training to speed device
design. The program provides a comprehensive ecosystem that
partners with engineers and designers in making smart solutions for
a more connected world.
“The amount of executable code for embedded applications that
require connectivity stacks, audio processing, and image analysis
has grown to substantial sizes,” said Joe Yu, vice president and
general manager of low-power microcontrollers at NXP. “Our
crossover processors can support large amounts of program and data
memory space by using external flash memory. We are pleased to work
with Adesto and be able to offer a range of optimized
cost-effective solutions to help customers build the most efficient
systems for next generation IoT edge devices.”
“Microcontroller vendors are looking at new memory architectures
to meet the cost, performance, power and security requirements of
emerging intelligent IoT edge devices,” said Gideon Intrater, CTO,
Adesto. “Adesto offers a comprehensive range of memory products
that helps NXP meet the needs of their customers, from our cost
effective Dual / Quad serial flash to our high-performance,
low-power eXecute-in-Place (XiP) series. Our strong and growing
partnership with NXP is already bearing fruit with customer
opportunities as companies see the powerful advantage of the
combination of NXP’s crossover processors and our value-added NVM
products.”
Adesto’s Dual / Quad products are designed with compatibility in
mind. They feature industry-standard features and pin outs that can
work in any new or pre-existing design, while providing world-class
quality.
