Headline - Directorate changes

Martin Currie Pacific Trust plc announces that Sir David Thomson (senior
non-executive director) and Lord Wilson stood down as non-executive
directors with effect from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting
on 30 June 2003.

Following these resignations, the board of Martin Currie Pacific Trust
plc is pleased to announce the appointments of Harry Wells and George
Cardona as non-executive directors of the company, with effect from 30
June 2003.

Mr Wells has over twenty-seven years' experience of investment markets,
primarily specialising in Asia, based in London and Hong Kong. Latterly,
he was a managing director at Salomon Smith Barney, responsible for
Asian equity sales in Europe for over six years, until retiring from
stockbroking in 2001. He is a non-executive director of the
Establishment Investment Trust plc and Bridge Securities Ltd, a listed
Korean securities company.

Since 2000, Mr Cardona has been the Chief Executive Officer and Founding
Partner of Cardona Lloyd & Co, a corporate advisory and asset management
company. Between 1985 and 2000 he worked for HSBC Group (based in Hong
Kong until 1993) as Head of Group Strategy and then General Manager
International, with responsibility for thirty countries and territories.
From 1979 to 1981 he was a Special Adviser at H.M.Treasury. Mr Cardona
is currently a non-executive director of Close Finsbury Eurotech Trust
plc.

There are no details on Mr Wells or Mr Cardona that require to be
disclosed in relation to paragraphs 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the listing
rules.
