outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The
information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
BP PLC (BP) on Feb. 2 shut the larger of two FCCUs at its
Whiting, Indiana, refinery for unplanned maintenance. There is no
estimate on when it will return to service, a person familiar with
the refinery said on Feb. 3.
Tesoro Corp. (TSO) on Feb. 3 said an unspecified unit, or units,
at its refinery in Anacortes, Washington, were in the process of
restarting after shutting down briefly the day before.
Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) on Feb. 2 said two months of planned
turnaround maintenance got under way the day before at an
alkylation unit and FCCU at its Baytown, Texas, refinery.
Hess Corp. (HES) on Feb. 2 said the 70,000-barrel-a-day FCCU at
its Port Reading, N.J., facility will be taken out of service on
Feb. 3 for maintenance. Last week the company said the turnaround
would last for three weeks.
Flint Hills Resources on Feb. 1 shut an alkylation unit at its
Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery to repair a leak at an associated
tower. The unit will return to service as soon as the leak is
repaired.
ConocoPhillips (COP) said a brief emissions event on Feb.1 was
caused by an upset at an unspecified unit. A filing to
environmental regulators didn't state the status of the unit.
Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) on Feb. 1 said hydrocracker unit
214 at its Garyville, La., refinery was expected to restart after
shutting down the day before to repair a leak.
Citgo Corp. on Jan. 31 said its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery
resumed normal operating rates following turnaround maintenance
work at the East Plant crude unit. That work got under way on Jan.
10.
Valero Energy (VLO) on Jan. 31 said five weeks of planned
maintenance would take place at an FCCU at its 170,000-barrel-a-day
McKee refinery in Sunray, Texas, in April. The Memphis refinery,
which may be shut this week if union workers strike, will undergo
crude unit maintenance for five weeks in March, and the St. Charles
refinery in Norco, Louisiana, will take a crude and coker unit down
for 10 weeks of maintenance in Feb.
