DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.

Valero Energy Corp.'s (VLO) West Plant at the Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery was restarted and ramping towards normal rates following a plant-wide power failure Tuesday evening. No units were damaged as a result of the sudden loss of power, the company said on Wednesday.

Chevron (CVX) Wednesday notified Calif. environmental regulators of its plan to flare excess emissions from Wednesday to Saturday; the event is not related to equipment breakdown, the company said in a filing.

BP PLC (BP) Monday said a weekend upset at its Carson, Calif., refinery involved the shutdown of a hydrotreater unit for unplanned repairs. A restart estimate is not yet available.

Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Monday a hydrocracker unit at its Benicia, Calif., refinery was nearing planned rates after a weekend restart following an unplanned shutdown on Friday.

Valero Energy Corp. also on Monday said the 92,000 barrel-a-day heavy oil cracker in the West Plant at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery remained down for repair; it is not expected to be a lengthy outage.

Tesoro Corp. (TSO) said Monday it will increase crude-oil processing capacity at it's North Dakota refinery by 17% to 68,000 barrels a day by 2nd quarter 2012.

BP PLC (BP) Monday began the restart of FCCU No. 1 at it's Texas City, Texas, refinery following planned maintenance that began on about Jan. 12.

Normal operations resumed Sunday at BP PLC's Texas City refinery following early-day power surges that led to instability at several processing units, a filing to environmental regulators said.

WRB Refining reported a brief process unit upset on Saturday in Area B at it's refinery in Borger, Texas.

BP's Whiting, Indiana, refinery reported emissions Saturday due to problems with an unspecified scrubber. It is unlikely that this upset would have a significant impact on operations.

BP PLC Saturday experienced a unit upset at its Carson, Calif., refinery; the unit involved wasn't specified in a filing to environmental regulators.

ConocoPhillips (COP) said Friday that planned maintenance at its Alliance refinery in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, has concluded. The units involved in the work were not identified by the company, but trade sources said work was performed at an FCCU. The turnaround got underway on about Feb. 3 the co. said at that time.
