information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Valero Energy Corp.'s (VLO) West Plant at the Corpus Christi,
Texas, refinery was restarted and ramping towards normal rates
following a plant-wide power failure Tuesday evening. No units were
damaged as a result of the sudden loss of power, the company said
on Wednesday.
Chevron (CVX) Wednesday notified Calif. environmental regulators
of its plan to flare excess emissions from Wednesday to Saturday;
the event is not related to equipment breakdown, the company said
in a filing.
BP PLC (BP) Monday said a weekend upset at its Carson, Calif.,
refinery involved the shutdown of a hydrotreater unit for unplanned
repairs. A restart estimate is not yet available.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Monday a hydrocracker unit at its
Benicia, Calif., refinery was nearing planned rates after a weekend
restart following an unplanned shutdown on Friday.
Valero Energy Corp. also on Monday said the 92,000 barrel-a-day
heavy oil cracker in the West Plant at its Corpus Christi, Texas,
refinery remained down for repair; it is not expected to be a
lengthy outage.
Tesoro Corp. (TSO) said Monday it will increase crude-oil
processing capacity at it's North Dakota refinery by 17% to 68,000
barrels a day by 2nd quarter 2012.
BP PLC (BP) Monday began the restart of FCCU No. 1 at it's Texas
City, Texas, refinery following planned maintenance that began on
about Jan. 12.
Normal operations resumed Sunday at BP PLC's Texas City refinery
following early-day power surges that led to instability at several
processing units, a filing to environmental regulators said.
WRB Refining reported a brief process unit upset on Saturday in
Area B at it's refinery in Borger, Texas.
BP's Whiting, Indiana, refinery reported emissions Saturday due
to problems with an unspecified scrubber. It is unlikely that this
upset would have a significant impact on operations.
BP PLC Saturday experienced a unit upset at its Carson, Calif.,
refinery; the unit involved wasn't specified in a filing to
environmental regulators.
ConocoPhillips (COP) said Friday that planned maintenance at its
Alliance refinery in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, has concluded. The
units involved in the work were not identified by the company, but
trade sources said work was performed at an FCCU. The turnaround
got underway on about Feb. 3 the co. said at that time.
