The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.

Tesoro Energy Corp (TSO) said it was bringing its Salt Lake City refinery back to target operating rates after a Feb.16 power outage caused unit stoppages.

ConocoPhillips (COP) will take down Unit 27.1 and a regenerator and reactor from service at its refinery in Sweeny, Texas, for inspection and possible repair, the company said in a regulatory filing Thursday.

BP plc reported an unspecified problem on Feb. 16 with the sulfur recovery unit at its Whiting, Indiana, according to a government filing.

Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Feb. 16 it shut the 30,000 barrel-a-day hydrocracker at its McKee refinery in Texas for repairs. Company spokesman Bill Day said the shutdown was expected to be short. Valero also restarted a crude unit at its Aruba refinery Tuesday evening. The unit is increasing toward planned rates, with other production units to restart soon, Day said.

WRB Refining LLC (COP, CVE) reported an unspecified unit malfunction at its refinery in Borger, Texas, on Feb. 15, according to a govenrment filing. WRB Refining last week said freezing cold temperatures caused a process upset at its oil refinery in Borger, Texas, which resulted in emissions at several flare stacks at the plant, according to a filing to Texas state environmental regulators.

Holly Corporation (HOC) on Feb. 14 said its Navajo Refinery in Artesia, New Mexico, was still at reduced operating rates after experiencing a plant-wide power failure late in the day on January 26 due to an interruption in power supply from its local utility. A Holly spokesman said the company would provide more information on the plant's operations during its 4Q earnings call on Feb. 24.

Western Refining said Feb. 14 that it started ramping up operations at its El Paso refinery late last week. Extreme cold weather and electrical blackouts forced the refinery to suspend operations on Feb. 7.

Motiva said Feb. 13 a process upset caused emissions at its refinery in Norco, Louisiana.

Hovensa LLC said a fire erupted at the distillate desulfurization unit of its 500,000 barrel-a-day refinery in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. No injuries were reported. The rest of the refinery remains in production, a company spokesman said.

BP PLC (BP) said Wednesday that planned flaring would begin on Feb. 15 and end on Feb. 18 at its Carson, Calif., refinery. The event is not related to equipment breakdown. No further details were provided in a filing to Calif. state environmental regulators.

Citgo Corp. Monday shut FCCU No. 1 at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery to repair an expansion joint; the restart estimate was not provided in a filing to environmental regulators made available on Wednesday.

Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) Monday said planned turnaround maintenance began Saturday at its oil refinery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The work at an unspecified unit, or units, is expected to last for several weeks.
