American Telecom Services Appoints Robert S. Picow to the Board of Directors

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., May 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American
Telecom Services, Inc. (AMEX:TES), a provider of internet phone
("VoIP") and prepaid long distance communications services bundled
with digital, cordless multi-handset phones, announced today that
its board of directors has elected Robert S. Picow as an
independent director, effective May 10, 2006. Mr. Picow (age 51)
served as Chairman of Cenuco Inc. (which has subsequently changed
its name to Lander Co. Inc. and now to Ascendia Brands, Inc.), a
publicly traded company from April 2004 until its merger with
Lander Co. Inc. Mr. Picow has served as a member of the board of
directors of Cenuco (and now Ascendia) since July 2003 and as chief
executive officer of the Cenuco Wireless division since 2005. The
Cenuco Wireless division is engaged in wireless application
development and software solutions. Mr. Picow has served as a
director of InfoSonics Corporation, a distributor of wireless
handsets and accessories in the United States and Latin America
publicly traded on the American Stock Exchange, since December
2003, as a director of Streicher Mobile Fueling, a fuel
distribution company publicly traded on the Nasdaq, since March
2001 and as a director of Fundamental Management Corporation, a
private fund management company, since May 2001. Mr. Picow served
as Vice Chairman and a director of BrightPoint from 1996 until
1997. Mr. Picow was chief executive officer of Allied
Communications, a cellular telephone and accessory distribution
company, from its formation in 1986 until it merged with
