Facebook Sued in UK for at Least $3.15 Billion Over User Data, Sky News Reports

--Facebook parent firm Meta Platforms Inc. is being sued in the
U.K. for at least 2.3 billion pounds ($3.15 billion) over claims
that more than 44 million users had their data exploited, Sky News
reports.
--Dr. Liza Lovdahl Gormsen, an expert in competition law, has
launched the class-action lawsuit at the Competition Appeal
Tribunal claiming that the social-media site used its market
dominance to compel users to agree to terms and conditions that
allowed it to generate money from their data while users received
no returns, Sky News reports.
--A Meta spokesman said: "[People] choose our services because
we deliver value for them and they have meaningful control of what
information they share on Meta's platforms and who with."
