Bitcoin Global News (BGN)
September 25, 2018 -- ADVFN Crypto NewsWire -- Specific
government departments in Spain, U.S.A. and Dubai are integrating
blockchain systems to increase their overall efficiency and create
new features to address their most pressing concerns. Essentially,
the general attribute achievable with a blockchain system used in
all three cases is live data tracking for their particular supply
chain. These networks can also facilitates a payment system for
near-instant payment settlements.
The tech term IoT (internet of
things) is finding its groundings in applications like this. When
the item, product or service at hand is connected to the internet,
an entirely new dataset is available to research, track and
optimize the logistic path. In Dubai, their implementation is part
of an ongoing initiative to push for “smart cities,” which takes
the IoT concept and connects it to the common functions of
cities.
Forestry Supply Chain In
Spain
The Spanish Ministry of
Agriculture, Fisheries and Food created a group specifically to
bring those benefits to their forestry industry called ChainWood.
They will focus on traceability and efficiency of the wood supply
in Spain. The group consists of eight partners representing
Spanish. They were given initial funding of 93,350 euros by a
collection of government bodies.
The goal is to develop a
cloud-based software for perfect transparency of all related
processes, such as forming solid wood, disintegration, cellulose
paste, and biomass. ChainWood will pilot the system in Castilla y
León with the poplar, Asturias with the chestnut, and Galicia with
the oak tree.
Naval Manufacturing Supply
Chain In U.S.
The Naval Air Systems Command
(NAVAIR) will use the technology to track aviation parts. Accurate
information in this industry is vital. Light aircraft parts are a
resource-consuming process that drives up the cost to operate
military aircraft because of the stringent regulations associated
with their manufacture, delivery and installation. This
permissioned blockchain will form through a Cooperative Research
and Development Agreement that includes Indiana Technology and
Manufacturing Companies (ITAMCO) and developers of another company,
SIMBA Chain. The secondary goal is a benefit for ITAMCO
researchers, where they get a chance to develop a conceptual
architecture of what a connected and visible supply chain could
look like.
Payment System In
Dubai
Smart Dubai is the group committed
to integrating technology that will facilitate a strong IoT network
in their country, and ultimately a version of a “smart city.” Their
“Court of the Blockchain” group explores the potential of the
technology in addressing the shortcomings of the UAE’s legal
system. This has resulted in an experimental blockchain-based
system to verify court judgements. The government has now
introduced a system for “Payment Reconciliation and Settlement” to
reduce the paper trail and manual work needed in many instances of
government. The system is ideal for the Dubai Police, Roads and
Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and
others. But the first was the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority
(DEWA) and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority
(KHDA).
