CEO of Tesco UK, Ireland Charles Wilson to Step Down

Tesco PLC (TSCO.LN) said Tuesday that Charles Wilson will step
down as chief executive of Tesco U.K. & Republic of Ireland and
from the board due to health reasons, effective July 16.
Mr. Wilson, who has been diagnosed with throat cancer and
undergone treatment, will remain on the Tesco executive committee
and focus on leading the Booker business, the company said. Booker
is a food wholesaler that Tesco recently took over.
The FTSE-100 listed grocer said that Jason Tarry, currently
group chief product officer, will become the CEO of Tesco U.K.
& Republic of Ireland.
Andrew Yaxley, currently CEO Ireland, will be promoted to group
chief product officer and join the executive committee, the company
said.
The promotions of Mr. Tarry and Mr. Yaxley will also be
effective from July 16, the company said.
