Ten Alps RNS: Teachers' TV goes onto video iPods and ITV Local

Teachers' TV has added Apple's video iPods and ITV Local trials to its
distribution platforms, thus maintaining its position as an early mover to new
digital technologies in the UK.

Teachers' TV has expanded its online video library of educational programmes to
over 700, accessible through its website www.teachers.tv. The channel is
already transmitted on Sky, Telewest, NTL and overnight on Freeview.

The channel is funded by the Department for Education and Skills, whilst Brook
Lapping, a subsidiary of Ten Alps plc, is the principal shareholder in the media
consortium, Education Digital, that operates the channel.

Podcasting

At the BETT 2006 educational conference Teachers' TV launched video podcasting
as the latest digital platform for its programmes. The technology enables
Teachers' TV news programmes to be viewed via Apple's video iPods. In the USA,
video podcasting is a rapidly growing, with over 8 million programmes already
purchased online by iPod users.

Education Digital's Chief Executive Nigel Dacre said: "Television programmes are
converging with the online world with staggering speed in 2006, It's important
for us to participate in that revolution, so that teachers and parents can
access our material in the way that most suits them."

ITV Local

ITV plc has also announced that it is extending its local broadband television
trial until April, and adding Teachers' TV to the platform this month.

ITV said on Wednesday 11 January that the ITV Local trial had attracted more
than 10,000 users each week in the Brighton and Hastings areas, where it is
being tested since its launch in October 2005.

The service is designed to allow ITV to assess the demand for ultra-local
content and information delivered over the internet.

Viewers across the UK will also be able to access the government-funded
Teachers' TV - already available on Sky, Freeview and NTL - from their computers
using the ITV Local web address.
