Purchase of Shares by Venture Production Employee Benefit Trust (the Trust) 
 
 
Venture Production plc announces that it was notified on 16 February 2009 that 
the Trust had acquired 89,369 ordinary shares of GBP0.004 pence in the Company 
at 555.0902 pence per share on 16 February 2009. 
 
 
The Company's shares held by the Trust are used to satisfy awards in the 
Company's Long Term Share Incentive Plans and Employee Annual Bonus Plan. 
 
 
The Executive Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility are 
potential beneficiaries of the Trust and are deemed to be interested in the 
shares held by the Trust. 
 
 
Following this transaction the Trust retains an interest in 1,807,303 shares, 
representing 1.21% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
