Purchase of Own Equity Shares


Venture Production plc announces that on 8th June 2006 it purchased 200,000
ordinary shares of 0.4 pence each. The maximum price paid was 650 pence and the
minimum price paid was 635.5 pence. The shares so purchased will be held as
treasury shares.


Following this transaction the Company holds 1,200,000 ordinary shares in
treasury and has 123,246,293 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury
shares.
